# Product Catalog

Learn what the Product Catalog is and how it powers SKU-based campaigns in Open Loyalty.

### 🧩 What Product Catalog Is

**Product Catalog** is a per-tenant repository of your products (SKUs) inside Open Loyalty. It gives you a single, organized source of product information — name, category, brand, price, and custom attributes — that campaigns can reference to reward specific products or entire groups of them.

#### Why it matters

Without a Product Catalog, rewarding purchases of individual products or product groups (by category, brand, or attribute) at scale usually means creating and maintaining a separate campaign per SKU, multiplied by every tier. With the catalog in place, you define the "product → points" rule once in a single campaign, and Open Loyalty applies it automatically to every matching product — even as your assortment changes.

#### What you can do

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Import Your Catalog</strong></td><td>Create a catalog and load your products with a CSV file — the same import you'll use to keep it current.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Browse and Search Products</strong></td><td>View your catalog as a list, filter by SKU or category, and open individual product details.</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Use It in Campaigns</strong></td><td>Reward specific SKUs or groups of products — by category, brand, or attribute — with per-tier multipliers and bundle rewards.</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Your e-commerce platform or PIM stays the source of truth for products — the catalog here is a read-only copy, kept current via CSV import. Fine print on attribute timing and point calculation lives in Product Catalog Campaigns and Importing Your Catalog.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.openloyalty.io/implementation-guide/integrations-and-data-exchange/product-catalog.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
