# Members

In this section, we will cover everything related to Loyalty Program Members. We will show you all the operations you can do on each Member and what you can achieve with them.

The **Members module** is the central place to manage all program participants. It provides a complete view of each member’s details, activity, and engagement within your loyalty program. From here, you can browse, create, and update member records, segment your audience, configure member identifiers, and track referral relationships.

***

### Key Functionalities

The Members module enables you to:

* 📋 **Browse and manage the member list** — view details such as transactions, points balance, tiers, and personal information.
* ➕ **Create or import members** — add single profiles manually or bulk-import them via CSV.
* 🛠️ **Perform account actions** — transfer or deduct units, edit details, anonymize, or deactivate accounts.
* 🎯 **Segment members** — build dynamic or static groups based on attributes, activity, or custom conditions.
* 👥 **Track referrals** — view relationships between referrers and referees, including multi-level referral chains.
* ⚙️ **Configure identifiers and activity rules** — define how members are uniquely identified and what makes them “active.”
* 🏷️ **Manage custom fields** — extend member profiles with attributes specific to your program needs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.openloyalty.io/implementation-guide/members-and-activity/members.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
